New Stuff.

So I've added new authors to the blogspot:
  • Diana Tran and Kristy Duong. (Anyone is really allowed to post, for legitimate reasons. Work is done on pretty much a volunteer basis.)
  • I need someone to be test printer, someone who just goes to the copy room and prints stuff. Let me know if you want to help!
  • I really like this (:
Notes for Today:
Momentum and Work
Momentum is the anything associated with collisions. COLLISIONS. COLLISIONS. COLLISIONS. means MOMENTUM.
p = mv momentum = mass*velocity in the units of kg*m/s.
You can apply this in everyday life. Something with large mass, and low velocity has high momentum. E.g. You should be afraid of a slow charging elephant, because of MOMENTUM.
Likewise, something with small mass and high velocity has high momentum. E.g. Be afraid of a fast bullet, because of MOMENTUM.

MOMENTUM is always conserved.

Impulse = change in momentum
Dp = Ft impulse = Force · DTime
Take a air hockey puck for example, if you transfer the momentum for a long time, you won't have to hit it as hard. Basically, the change in momentum is affected by force and time. Let's take seatbelts. Seatbelts increase the time for you to hit the windshield so that the force isn't as great.

Elastic collision
Inelastic collisions.

Basically what we did today, Study.
